award

In 2001, Prof. Dr. Christian Scholz, Saarland University, received the “Best Symposium Award” at the annual conference of the Academy of Management in Washington D.C. The Management Education Division rewarded him for the research project “Globally Distant Multicultural Teams: Intercultural Teaching in Times of Virtuality”.

The international research group presented its theoretical and practical know-how they experienced during working in the international virtual team (GDMT-project). Participants from the Saarland University, University of Tennesee, University of Missouri and University of Vienna came together for the project.

The Academy of Management is worldwide known as the most important meeting of lecturers of business administration. The outrageous number of attendees (over 6.000) as well as their reputation makes it a special occasion. Because the majority of speakers came from the U.S., we were really honoured to receive this Award.
